A New Chapter of Growth Within the MSS Studio

We’re excited to share some great news from the studio! Five team members have recently stepped into new roles that reflect their impact, leadership, and the values we share at MSS.

This includes the introduction of three new Director-level positions, created to recognize the impactful contributions of our leaders across the studio and with our clients. These roles give them the space to focus their strengths where they matter most: guiding teams, mentoring others, and continuing to raise the bar on service and design. We’re also thrilled to recognize two additional colleagues for their well-earned promotions to Senior Associates. We couldn’t be prouder to celebrate this next step in their journeys!

Please join us in congratulating:

Greg Piccini - Studio Director

Promoted from Senior Associate, Senior Project Architect

With more than 25 years of experience, Greg brings a steady hand and a sharp eye to his new role as Studio Director. He leads creative direction while nurturing a collaborative studio culture and long-standing client relationships. Greg is known for thinking through the details early, ensuring great ideas become even better buildings. His portfolio spans residential, commercial, and sustainable design, often shaped by his deep appreciation for construction realities and the natural landscapes that inspire his work.

Kristin Schreiner – Director of Design

Promoted from Associate, Senior Project Designer/Design Lead

Kristin brings global experience and a human-centred philosophy as she steps into her Director of Design position. Her work stretches from the Yukon to Germany to the U.S., and always begins with a simple question: How will people move through and feel within this space? Known for her design rigour and thoughtful approach, she leads with creativity and care, guiding teams through complex systems, meaningful consultations, and inspired outcomes rooted in context, performance, and connection.

Adam Morris – Director of Construction Administration

Promoted from Contract Administrator

With 20 years in construction, Adam leads our delivery phase with clarity and calm. As Director of Construction Administration, he keeps projects moving forward by bridging the gap between big-picture vision and on-site execution. From major airport expansions to residential mid-rises, Adam brings practical know-how, technical insight, and a steadfast leadership style that ensures alignment, progress, and trust, every step of the way.

Mark Buckley – Senior Associate, Senior Project Architect

Promoted from Associate

Mark is a licensed architect with more than a decade of experience designing thoughtful, enduring spaces across sectors, from adaptive reuse to multi-residential. Known for his open, team-driven approach, Mark helps guide projects with a balance of creativity and clarity. His background in design and construction gives him a grounded understanding of how buildings come together, and his leadership continues to support strong outcomes, lasting value, and a studio-wide commitment to sustainable design.

Andrew (AJ) Vlcek – Senior Associate, Project Architect

Promoted from Associate

AJ brings a thoughtful mix of academic depth and hands-on experience to his new role as Senior Associate. With roots in Waterloo Region and a longstanding connection to MSS, his approach blends history, architecture, and a deep sense of place. Whether working through design challenges or collaborating with clients, AJ focuses on creating spaces that feel intuitive, meaningful, and grounded, helping shape environments that invite connection and belonging.
