Mariem Saad

Architectural Co-op

Mariem is a third-year student at the University of Waterloo’s School of Architecture and we’re happy to welcome her back for her second co-op term with the MSS team. It’s our focus on thoughtful materiality, a strong sense of place, and the balance between creativity and practicality that brought Mariem back, and we’re glad to have her with us. She brings a calm, organized presence to our multifaceted work and thrives in a studio environment where collaboration drives creativity. Curious by nature, Mariem is keen to deepen her understanding of how ideas take shape across project phases, and how new technologies are reshaping what’s possible. She’s looking forward to building on her technical skills, expanding her design thinking, and getting hands-on experience with the real-world challenges that shape strong architecture. When she’s not designing, Mariem can be found pursuing one of her many creative hobbies like sewing and making jewelry.

“I wanted a career that’s challenging and meaningful—architecture felt like the right fit.”
